Just announced from  Fantasy Fight Games, the latest expansion in The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth – Spreading War.

War in the realm of Men has arrived. This latest expansion comes with 6 new heroes, over 20 new enemy miniatures and 18 new Journey map tiles. It’s a whole lot of stuff. The best part is it’s all backwards compatible. You’ll be able to play the campaigns from the original game and the Shadowed Paths Expansion with the new heroes, enemies and tiles!

Speaking of new heroes, we are most excited about playing Beorn and seeing how he changes into The Great Bear hero. Scout and activate The First Beorning card, then you get to swap the character card, equipped items and even the miniature to the Bear. Essentially you have the ability to play two different heroes!

Along with the new heroes, The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth – Spreading War also introduces 6 new roles. Three of which are Guide, Shieldmaiden and Trickster which all sound amazing.

Lastly, all the miniatures look fantastic! And who would believe that you will actually get to battle an Oliphaunt or enemies in a Siege Tower.
